Default Genaddi Murcielago Hard Top

-FOR THOSE THAT CARE TO PAY TO PLAY-

The Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster is one of the most sought after supercars on the planet but, as you’ll discover in this video review, installing or removing the manual fabric roof can be down right annoying, especially if you had to do it in a downpour. American coachbuilders at the Genaddi Design Group may have the solution in the form of a new removable carbon fiber hard top they’ll be producing for owners of the Murcielago Roadster.

The hard top is designed to fit easily in the front bonnet of the car and go on and off the car in about one minute. This six-piece hard top includes the rear glass window, and you have the option of installing it in several different forms. First as the straight forward Roadster, then as a hard top, a T-top, and lastly as a Targa top.
All pieces come finished in either dull or gloss finish of carbon fiber but not painted.
The top will be available directly from Genaddi Design Group or through participating Lamborghini dealers at a cost of $26,000. Production will start in May of 2008.

I know its only a digital mockup design but theres a few things that look bad.
If you look at it from a side view, like the pic I attached, it adds alot of bulk to the center line pillars.
How do you open the doors, the rear window section sits on top of the rear window door guide.
Interesting design but still not much better than the cloth top.
The affolter design carbon top is along the same lines but still has that bulky look.
The roadster just doesnt work with any tops, design wise.

Thumbs down I wouldn't do business with Genaddi

Terrible experience with this company. Sent in $10,000 and was promissed a LP640 hardtop in no more than 8 weeks. Well its 145 days (20 weeks) and still nothing. Admitted to having "business problems" and "being sick" which is causing delays. Still has no product to ship and uses excuse after excuse. Normally don't post business issues, but this guy Mark Genaddi is over the top in arrogance.

I would be happy to share the emails and let you know my experience.
I would not do business with this company based on my experience. If you got what you ordered you are the lucky one. If you are like me and the other Murci owner who sent in a combined $20,000 deposit -- all indications are we are out the money with no product. Now handing over the the attorneys to try to collect. Will let you know if he does the right thing and refunds or if we were cheated.

Murciowner,

Sorry to hear of your hard luck with the vendor. I have been led to this thread by a friend of mine who owns a Diablo (participates in this forum) and has recommended that I comment on the subject. I know absolutely nothing about any kind of Lambo but I do know most everything about composite part manufacturing. I have specialized in aerospace grade tooling and parts production for most of my career. I continue to work in various sectors of aviation doing prototyping and airframe development and construction, all of it composite (ie. Carbon, Kevlar etc..). I believe that I could build the part in question and I know I could do it for a heck of a lot less than $26K. If anyone is interested in talking about this please feel free to contact me.

Default Thanks!

Dreamcast18,

Thanks - wish I had caught that before. Looks like he does great work, just has problems with delivery. He even brokered this through a local Lamborghini dealership and is giving them the run around as well. Dealership is great trying to work a resolution, but its looking like excuse after excuse most recent being his guy that does the hydroforming or something is out sick. You know the out for 2 days causes a 1 month delay... yeah.

yes, its unfortunate that he's allowed to continue to scam more people. Make sure you forward the Ford GT scam history to your lawyers; it might be more than just a civil matter due to the fraudulent nature of how it is unfolding again.

Good luck and if you need contact info of his ex-employees, PM me.
