Default Front License PLate?

How do you get away without putting on a front license plate? USA Plates are too large and look very bad on the front of the car. Will the dealer automatically drill holes for mounting brackets? I know here in Hawaii it is a law to have front plates, but I never put them on my Porsche.

Thanks Russ

Front license plate is always required. We just have to take our chances if we do not install the front plate. I don't install it on my previous Gallardo, nor on my current Murcie.

Walt,

That is what I thought. I guess the worst that can happen is they will make you install a front plate.

Thanks Russ

I figured it was worth about 6 tickets - at $50 each before I put on a front plate. I was picked up in my Porsche...but now with the Gallardo I live in PA and no front plate is required. Thats at least one good reason to live in this state.

here in cali its required by law. like market top said unless you get harassed all the time just pay the fine. the car looks so much better with out it. another idea is taking what abunawaff said and improving it. put the clear bra film on the bottom section of the car and then you can take some good 3m double stick tape and stick it to the film. thus never damaging the bumper or the paint. kinda of a win win. i personally will never run a front plate until i get pulled over at every corner!

In Canada are there regions that dont require front plates? Also in Ontario specifically do you just get tickets if you dont run with a front plate? No chance of more serious action?

Yeah, in Ontario you get a ticket for no front plate. I think that its about $125, or $150... Its just the ticket, nothing else.

Thanks for the replies! Here in Hawaii it is a law, but I have been driving my Porsche without one for 2 years and so far no problems. It is just that every time I get in back of a cop I worry that he is looking for my front plate. I am afraid the lambo will attract their attention more than the Porsche.

Aloha Russ
