I feel pretty fortunate...I called on a black Murcie they "had" there with Maya's on it...the guy on the phone was just an a$$...claimed they sold the car just the day prior then tried the old bait and switch on me...the one they "sold" is still listed on e-bay and on dupont...tried to switch me to an 03 with 500 miles on it...now that I read the reports, quite possible it had nowhere near 500 miles on it !!! More like 5,000 miles....of course in your case, the 02's were all KM odometers from my understanding, I could be wrong on that one. But, I would contact the Attorney General and start a non stop letter campaign against Euro...every day the Attorney General would be getting al letter from me....until the money was paid. I am having to do the exact same thing with Sprint PCS...and they are finally offering "go away" pay...which isn't close to my demand...so stay persistent !!!

As I live in Florida, I can and will say this:

Do not believe, do business, or anything money related with people from here, and even more with latin people from south Florida.

For those latin people here, before you start a reply against me: I AM LATIN as well, and I am not proud at all of many latin people I know down here.

If you are from here, and live here, then you know who and how to deal with people, who will try to steal from you and rip you off, and who you can actually trust. and the problem is that you have to behave the same way many times in order to survive.

Car business is very "dark" down here, new, used, exotics, shops, etc etc, anything car related is "dirty" most of the time down here, so you have to be very careful when dealing with them.

Besides this, I think the best way to buy a used car is doing it locally, even if you spend a little more money, cause if you get into a rip off deal, then is more dificult to recover your money if you live in other state, and will cost you much more and will give you way more headaches. So why risk it?

Sorry you have to learn this the hard way, and I really hope you get those bastards and get money from them and make them go to jail.

Good luck.

Dan

Thanks everyone!!!
After further review, I change my mind and think you should let this go. These guys are probably a little crooked, but I think you made the mistake of paying for a car without inspecting it.

What part of the car was repainted? Technically it might never have been involved in a "collision". The ad when I read it tells me it has been repaired. Read it again:

"This fine auto has never had any repairs done to the body DUE TO COLLISIONS". Ok, this implies that the car has had "repairs done to the body", but NOT due to collision.

Ever go to an art auction by the major art houses? Highly reputable companies like Sothebys and Butterfield. They will sell hundred million dollars of art at an auction. They will sometimes auction a piece with the description "Picasso signature on painting" or "in the manner of Picasso". Doesn't mean or say it is a Picasso, though!! It is a forgery, but probably a decent one worth selling. Doesnt mean they are crooks either. A little sly to the uninitiated, but not crooks.

You got to read between the lines.

As for the K40 and Navigation, I think you should have gotten these items in writing. I dont see them mentioned in the ad? Maybe I missed it. A verbal contract is worthless, by the way. I have navigation and tubi installed in my murci. I might remove both before selling the car. Of course i'll put the stock exhaust and deck back into it and make it clean, but these items are of value (easy $5k for both on ebay) and I dont see in writing where they were included?

Finally, your lawyer's demand letter is a little insulting if I was the dealer. There is not $25,000 of damage and demanding $35,000 is too much. Unless the K40 and Nav are guaranteed to be part of the package, your case is worth $2k at most. Respray the wire mesh and your car is how you ordered it.

It sounds like you are planning to sell it and get another color. So sell the car and move on. I am sure the next owner will be ecstatic when he or she drives it. If you can afford to wire $150k before looking at the car, a $5-10k hit is not worth the emotional stress you are going through. You knew the risks. Your case looks a little weak... let it go and move on. I mean no offense in any way, just some friendly advice to a fellow murci owner.

I completely disagree, I believe that you have to stand up for your rights and act on PRINCIPLE. If more dealers acting inappropriately are held to task, then maybe there will be fewer incidents like this reoccuring?!?

Forgetiing the parts that were missing my main complaint is that the car needed a ton of repairs that were not disclosed to me - and there isnt anything for me to "let go" the web site has 3400 hits already and I will never take it down - as long as I can keep causing these criminals money that is all I am concerned with at this point - not to sound like a big shot but 10k 20k or 200k really isnt the end of the world for me - at this point it is simply principle... which goes a looonnngg way

yellowmurci,
When I was looking for my gallardo I called a few places in FL, but then I said if I'm going to spend this much just buy new, so I bought one local, I understand the concept of used great savings, sometimes great deals, I know that the 20-50 don't make a diff. to you but look at the agg. you have to go through, you don't have time for that ****. I love what your doing, when it comes to these kind of cars, don't mess with our type of people, some of us came from nothing to buy these rides some of us have it. Tell these dealers don't take our enjoyment away.

Just spent some time surfing around your new "dedicated" website. It's the firts time I've seen something like this. If it was me that got screwed and I had the money and time I would have tried putting them out of business for good by damaging their reputation (if any) as much as possible. I also checked the dealer website and found a couple of statements: "long-standing tradition of value and trust" and "Our excellence in customer relations is renowned in our industry". That must be amongst the other Florida scumbag dealers...What you see on a fancy flashing website very often doesn't correspond to the real world experiences...
I really hope you succeed in your efforts. Good luck to you.
