Default Early Viper Vs its contemporary Lambo???

I've never been too interested in Vipers but I was just reading that Lamborghini had a lot to do with its development, especially the drive train. My question to those of you who have driven both is how do they compare? Can you feel the Lambo influence or is it the reverse with Lambos of that era feeling more like Chryslers? Maybe there is no comparison?

you are reading way too much into it..all Lambo did was supply a couple of engineers to help make the truck engine into a viper engine.

These two cars are as different as night and day. Any Lamborghini participation in the Viper is buried down deep and is not apparent. My Gen IV Viper was in your face torque and horsepower. The Lambo power comes on smoother and more controllably. The Lambo is a a Viper with a graduate degree and an Armani suit.

I'd finish a Viper ride cramped with a shirt soaked in sweat from the engine heat and a big smile on my face. Now I finish the ride with just the big smile. I feel a hell of lot more planted to the ground when driving the Gallardo. Both are fun but in a different way. One is the girl your mother wouldn't let you date. The other is the one she wanted you to marry (and you agreed)

I think you didn't really read my question. Have you just been sitting around all day just waiting to say something snarky?

LOL, especially that last sentence. Thanks for the reply. That is pretty much what I figured but when I found out that there was a connection I thought I would get the truth from someone who knows. Thanks.

i only sat in an ACR once. its huge and long hood was intimadating. power was instant and brute as everyone says.

in comparison, the gallardo feels much more controllable but less powerful.

everyone says the viper falls apart. i wonder if it's really that bad. i would like to drive one some day.

btw, where did viper v10 come from? is it bespoke or borrowed from some other application?

They are raw animals djantlive. I had two Gen 4 ACR's. No driver aids of any kind except your feet. The stock Pilot Sport Cups are the stickiest tire on the road when it's warm out but dangerous as hell in the wet or cold. You never relax when driving that car nor should you. You can push that car farther than any other (see Nurburgring production car record) but when it lets go you never see it coming. In other words, about as much fun as you can have in a car... The torque is breathtaking compared to the docile Gallardo. But it's so one dimensional unless you are intending to let it rip on the track often it's just silly for the street.

Lamborghini's involvement was isolated to helping with the conversion of the Chrysler "LA engine" cast-iron block to an aluminium block.

No such thing.

Lamborghini turned the iron engine into aluminum and did the tuning (Chrysler couldn't get the V10 to properly fire).

There are some similar characteristics of the Viper the Murci (Diablo too):
Both are tube chassis with passenger tub
Only production vehicles to have 335/30R18 tires
2WD Murci has some characteristics of the Viper (weight transfer, snap oversteer, etc)
Central mounted seat belts
Murci seats face inwards, Viper face outwards
