but a manual gear box is very much simple than e-gear i think. e-eger what kind of component it have? electric component software pneumatic pump? (i don't know how it work) this component are reliable? in a car whith a lot of years (like a 2004 gallardo) probably breakin soon? or only one thing that i must replace regularly is the disc of clutch? after how much miles i must change the clutch?
do you know how it work a e-gear? thank guys... thanks!!! |

It's mostly electronic. I don't see too many complaints posted from those who have e-gear regarding cost to maintain. They seem to be extremely reliable from what I know. I've yet to learn of anyone who's moved away from e-gear and ordered a car with a manual AFTER owning an e-gear car. Before I bought my car, I did lots of homework and concluded there was no better choice for me to the point where I wouldn't consider a manual. Most who criticize it and prefer manual have never driven a Lamborghini with e-gear, especially in a very fast, constant shifting twisty-road environment so they are simply voicing what they know.

I went from an e-gear to a manual and love it.
I had a 05 gallardo with e-gear and driving was ok but traffic was not.I didnt like the paddles not moving with the wheel like BMW and it either jerked a lot at slower speeds or taking off into traffic or when re-adjusted by the dealer it slipped too much, it was a constant job feathering the throttle just right for different situations - mostly slower speeds. Once you got going it was fine. I traded it for a murcielago with 6 speed and I love it so much more. the car is more controllable in traffic and on the open road the absolute control of a manual is more pure feeling. Both have their strong points, but call me when its perfected and I might try another e-gear(but I didnt like the BMW system either with my M-6). creeping into my garage slowly to park was a little wierd with the e-gear for me especailly with a 15 degree driveway incline but now its much more of a calm experince with the manual letting the car pull itslef in instead of revving just enough to catch the clutch on the e-gear.I smelled a lot more clutch on my e-gear as well. On the plus side the e-gear can outshift you but I like trying with manual and being able to roll off a few revs at a stop light every now and then aint so bad either. Every drive is not on a race course so that should be a consideration as well. honestly I would be most impressed with a CVT drive in the future. |

I've not had any of the same issues. I did have some jerking in the first 500 miles or so, and only once in a while, like on an incline, but that was adjusted and I've not had any problems since. Your comments about pulling into a garage with a 15 degree driveway is interesting as I've not had to park in tha situation yet. You are the first I've read to go back to manual and it's great feedback.
I did a check of four different dealers and their inventory of 31 cars in total. Of the 31, only two were manual transmission. None were Murcs.
