My Gallardo's clear perspex? covers on the temp and fuel gauges have fine swirl marks on the surface. The big gauges are still perfectly clear. I thought I was using a clean soft cloth, but obviously it is prone to scratching.

Can I fix this with some kind of polish, or must I live with it (or replace the clear covers)? Has anyone had any experience with this?

Mcquires makes Plastic Cleaner & Plastic Polish, I aciially use them on the plastic and on my paint to remove swirls!!!

This has happened to me with many different cars over the years. Since they no longer use glass to cover gauges, I've learned to NOT wipe any dash lenes -- the only thing I do is use a lambswool duster to remove any dust from the lens (which is all there should be there anyway). If you use a scratch remover you have to be careful, because you are probably going to get the "polish" in the area around the lens and the dashboard itself.

mhh -- JRV is pointing you in the right direction for fixing the problem. However, the root cause analysis of the problem is probably the wrong cloth in wiping. Always use a microfiber cloth on your interior. Griotsgarage.com has the best (and most expensive it seems) microfiber cloth selection. I even use a microfiber drying towel and I have NO swirl marks on *any* part of my cars from doing this.
