I owned a 1987 Countach and I regret everyday for selling it. I have driven Diablos and they just do not do it for me!!

If you want a show stopper the CT is the way to go. The diablo is best in roadster trim, but either way, both cars are awesome. For investment I think the CT will do better, however the Roadster seems to be maintaining its value as well. Imo both cars are fun to drive, it is just personal tastes. My wife perfers our Diablo whlile I perfer our CT. Its a mixed bag. Good luck.

Wow... this is the exact decision I am making at the moment!

I have been told that late (anniversary) CT's are more mechanically 'sound' than an early D... due to many years of evolution.

The Countach was one of my childhood dream cars (along with the Lotus Esprit - which I have ) but I think I would always hanker after the extra power of the Diablo...

There is a stunning 91D in the UK at the moment that may well have my name on it but as with most newcomers... I am concerned more by potential running / servicing costs than buying it!

Thanks guys...

Countach my vote. More personality and a true icon.. of course Diablos are nice but different parts for every year sourced by different suppliers and not the same attention getting looks... but some like it just for that fact.
Decisions Decisions.......

correct

still a good DD countach is almost as fast as a diablo on a straight line

the countach chassis is not lesser than the diablo's one

In 1999 when I bought my DD Countach there was no way that I could afford a Diablo, now, here in Europe some Diablos (in good condition) are 35-40% cheaper than the least expensive Countach.

Probably in a couple of years one could trade in a Countach for an early well kept Murci.

The Countach remains The Special One - it does not have the elegance of the Miura (nor the value) but as far as aggressiveness the is no comparison with any other Lamborghini - or any other production car of any other brand for that manner.

You say that the 25th is the best built – probably correct but the last series was more civilized and had too many added on body features like side skirts, a rear bumper, consolidated air intake/exit – the purer the lines and the more spartan the better IMO.

I meant all around performance not just straight line.
Diablo has better handling and better brakes.

Countach will be worth more than a Murci for sure.I would not be surprised to see a Countach go for $250k in a few years.
