Question Annual Maintenance Costs Murcielago and Gallardo

Caught this on another site;troublesome !

One of the English Mags ran a story on the P1 car club in the UK.

Their cars are driven circa 3000 miles a month, but nevertheless the G-car went through [5] clutches in 7000 miles…the M-car had annual maintenance costs of 35 K Sterling [$70K]…and that is maintenance items like clutches and brakes not damaged bodywork.

While the drivers may be so-so [all you need is a driver’s license and the annual fees]…they can’t be that ham fisted.

So these look like fun practical future “investments”

Thank Audi !

2004 Murcielago at 3 1/2 years: no new clutch, no tires, no nothing but oil for the engine and transmission / diffs, and air in the tires. We now have 6,600 miles. There have been no problems but for keeping people off the car at car shows. Oh, there was that eyeglass thing on the roof of the car that does not stay shut - fixed it myself. The oil and air filters have been changed as needed. The car was waxed several times after a wash. Lexol is applied to the leather each January. We are on the original battery and it tests good for at least another 6 - 12 months.

There we go, from a real Murcie owner, of course im sure he takes meticulate care of the car and if you didnt it may be quite expensive.

I own one of each:

'04 Gallardo with now 11,500 miles and '06 Murci Roadster with 6,500 miles.

have had the G for two years and the Murci for one.

Cost spent on maintanence of the G about $900.00

on the Murci about $1,100.00

Great cars as far as service goes. First 1500 on G for free and then paid for one at 7500

Murci paid first service at 1500 and then again at 5000

5 clutches in 7000 miles?

I wonder how many burnouts this guy did...

These cars belong to the P1 car club in the UK. Thay are driven 2500-3000 miles per month=30K miles per year.
