SO true, WINGS 700, but to clear the air:

Most of the money in the car business comes from the turn of USED vehicles in on the new next year model as you all know, there is a hell of a drop when you get rid of you car.

The next is the SERVICE and PARTS department. Without these being successful you will almost for sure not be a profitable dealership.

Yes you will NOT get rich on just SELLING Lambo's.........but it is the other items it leads you into that does make it a GREAT stepping stone.

Wings 700 I completely agree on profitability. If a business can't be profitable there is no point in expending the energy. Al Burtoni seems to have made a go of it relying on service more than car sales. I would gladly pay what was required to keep an exotic car running. My thought is if a person wants to sell and service Lamborghinis because they truly are special then keep it to that, be the best, and charge what's fair and needed for both parties. It's what I've done in my field and it's been profitable for 15 years.

They need to establish the level of quality and reliabilty in these new aged cars prior to the numbers going up.......thiscan only be done with an expanded dealer network. What amazes me is why they dont do it....it does not cost them a dime....BELIEVE me!! And I don't buy the fact themore dealers will hurt the current dealers count...to the countrary, it will make all dealers BETTER to get and keep the returning customer...........not the current additude of some dealers......"oh well were else you going to buy?" Hoping I will be part of this chane for the better I await.................
I agree with you and Dave here!

I see a lot of older Murcielago's seemingly available on the internet. If there
was at least a factory authorized service facility in each major city, that
would really help with moving the previously owned lambos I think, which
would reduce the inventory and help keep the prices of the cars up.

Default service in all major citys

Scram Jet If they had a service in every state how would the service shops
stay open. Very had to make money at just lambo service, almost no states
have enough lambos to keep doors open doing just lambos. As a dealer the shop & show room, floors, lighting, paint must meet Lamborghini specs to be
a dealer. The lamborghini tools cost alot & if you dont have a very large
customer base you will never make the money back. I have worked lambo
service for six years not easy.

Hi Jeffoc!

A real Lambo Mechanic ! Very Cool !!

I hear you.

So, I think there is a real benefit to solving this problem!

You have legitimate concerns here, but so do I as a potential owner in
a city hundreds of miles from an authorized dealership.

To solve it Lamborghini has to be more flexible.

Today, to solve this problem, I will find a local mechanic who has a
garage and some tools, and the time, but not the knowledge, nor the
right tools, nor the diagnostic equipment.

So a solution, is to get my local man trained and properly equipped
and tapped into the system. I'd pay for it !!

I would be interested in seriously looking into this if it was offered as
an option. There should also be a way built into the plan where I could
recoup my costs for the training. Maybe a deep discount on the car
(as the tools equipment are used to service other Lambos).
Maybe the ability to buy used Lambos wholesale and sell retail. Maybe
I rent the tools/diagnostic machines to my local mechanic as he fixes
other Lambos.

It's only needed for the first owner willing to do this in each new city.

Maybe it's not "Factory Authorized". Maybe it's "Factory Trained" or
something.

You know this is just like some many other consumer products out there that require maintance and or service. NO ONE wants to lay the money out UNLESS they KNOW it can get fixed if needed. Americans are KNOW for being LAZY........hence no one is going to drive 3-4 hours to service their $200k plus car.

If there was a larger DEALER/SERVICE network, there would be more customers, more need, more demand.........larger and better supply.......more models to choose from.........as in any BUSINESS more competition makes for better comsumer products.

Are you really going to sit their and tell me that FERRARI is not making money because they have to many outlets and not enough customers. To the countrary, this is EXACTLY why they are successful........you can drive your FERRARI accross country in the summer..and if something goes wrong your GOING to get it serviced within a reasonable distance. (except for Alaska). If I just drive my car from SEATTLE to LA or Las Vegas, I have to worry if I have to call a truck to HAUL it back to San Fran or La Jolla.....that is just NOT acceptable. I KNOW more of you AND other potential customers would drive their car MORE if this fear was GONE!!!!

IF tghere was MORE LAMBO dealers........they would be a DIRECT threat to the F-Car........you would see used LAMBOS hold their value, you would see new LAMBOS go for over MSRP WIITH a waiting list JUST like the F-Car if NOT MORE.

GIVE ME MY DEALERSHIP IN WASHINGTON NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!
