Default 55 Mph

There's talk about reinstating the 55 MPH limit due to gas prices. I can't even imagine going back to this while owning a Lambo. In Oklahoma 75 is pretty common so going 80 is stress free.

Just reserve my jail cell now.

I can't imagine 55 in ANY car (or bike for that matter).

That is such a stupid idea. The real purpose is to increase revenues by issuing more speeding tickets.

We are already at the 55 limit. IN fact on January 1st 2008 a new law came into being, that is anyone going 80 mph or over goes directly to jail, and anyone exceeding the posted speed limit by 50 mph goes to jail!

That can put a damper on your desire for speed.

Russ

I am in Honolulu, Hawaii. Yes it is scary indeed! I will need to ferry my car over to the Big Island and find a deserted road.

That would not suprise me. I don't notice any mileage difference between 55 and 65, I notice it b/w 65 and 75, but I know this is dependent on the car. . . Around here, people are slowing down on their own anyway. Why mandate it? There's still a lot of debate about probability of fatalities related to speed as well.

I went to the Cobra show in London, Ohio last weekend. Got alot of stares in my Jalpa. (felt kinda good)

I think this pictures says it all for me if they reduce the speed to 55.

The Cobra is a really special car, I am sure it was a blast.
