Default 0-60

I have a small question that hopefully one of you guys can help me figure out the answer to.
I'v been looking at the Diablo 6.0 0-60 times and i believe Motor Trend got the time of 0-60 in 3.4 sec. That being said if the Diablo 6.0 achieved a 0-60 in 3.4 sec. in 2001, why did it take until 2007 to beat this old 0-60? (im believing the pre-LP640 Murcielago's 0-60 time of 3.8 sec)

Have you ever experienced this kind of acceleration? Anything under 5 secs feels like warp speed. Who gives a damn' about a couple of 10ths of seconds.

Too many factors to know for certain. Tenths of a second are easily gained or lost based upon test conditions like weather, temperature, driver technique, etc as well as production variances between cars of the same model.

A great example is the new Nissan GT-R. Several mags have timed its 0-60 at 3.3, 3.5, and one of the new issues has it at over 4.0 seconds. That's a difference of 0.7 seconds for the exact same car.

Having traveled this fast, I agree with mr jef---anything under 4.0 seconds feels like you're getting launched out of a sling shot.

I test drove my friend's Diablo. I felt it is a LOT slower than LP640 or my Murcie. In fact, when we drove together on the freeway, Diablo was having hard time catching up.

If that is the case, PLEASE have your friend with the 6.0 get it into SERVICE ASAP something is wrong!! LOL

But serious, a proper tuned 6.0 will have NO problem keeping up with a Murcie as well as a LP640...I have had them all...and till today I will still put my 6.0 SE up against them..yes the 1/10 of a seconds is so hard to notice.

Just a different kind of ride and a different way to get to sped with a tall gear 5 speed (6.0) compared to a bottom end jump 6 speed Murcie.

Just make sure no matter what, I get buried in a 6.0!!

When Simon ('Simon Says') and I drove up to the 'SpaItalia' event in his 5.7 Diablo he briefly pushed 'the pedal to the metal'. Ten seconds: 180 mph.
(sorry Simon, I 'have no memory of this event' ).
Lambo's are capable of this kind of performance. I would like to think it's more than enough??

I have no recollection of such event Jef Do I know you?
A Diablo's strength is not in the 0-60 time, but rather the 100-180mph times

A Diablo is rather like the Millenium Falcon: Big, but with one helluva engine and LOADS of firepower... Who needs a Tie-Fighter from maranello anyway, they don't do warp speed
