My humble thanks to you gentlemen, for accepting my off-topic video on this forum.
Switching back "on topic" - Changing my mind from an Espada to the Bora was harder than it might appear. I remain emotionally invested in an Espada, it's a car I have admired for over 30 years and am committed to owning one day. I've got literature, manuals, everything I feel I need on them. I have followed Espada's (plus Islero's, Urraco's and other "overlooked" and hybrid exotics like DeTomaso's, Monteverdi's, Iso's and Dual Ghia's) since they were $17-20,000 some 20 years ago. It has four useable seats which - now that I have a family - is crucial to my intended use: Enjoying roadtrip vacations and bringing friends and family to events, the latter of which is just so limited with the Bora. I'm thankful that my experience with the Bora will serve me well with an Espada. There's an inherent mindset and sensitivity necessary with an exotic, something that can't easily be conveyed or learned from an internet thread. The Bora is as good an exotic to start with as any. My goal isn't gone, it's only been delayed by 5-6 years. I will keep track of the value of Espada's to make sure I have the funds when the time comes. In the meantime, if any Espada owner is in the upstate NY area, I will gladly trade equal time behind the wheel with my Bora.... ![]() Best, -Art |

Thanks Mike, Pete and Jef -
I've seen your Espada clips Mike, good stuff! Last time I was in Perth was for the America's Cup in '86 (mostly Freo of course). Arrived in time to see Australia Day fireworks on the river. Besides the races we drove a rental 4x4 truck with 'roo bars down the coast to Margaret River. Saw a kangaroo in the wild. Drank plenty of Black Swan. Loved every minute of my stay. A lifetime ago, but I remember it with great fondness; beautiful country and fabulous people. Pete and Jef, - hope to run into some of you at regional Italian events near you, or the Hemmings or Italian shows at Saratoga Springs? The video was a blast to edit, thanks! |

Art,
You certainly are going back a few years there I remember the America's cup well I was still in school when Alan Bond managed to bring the cup back to Aus. Lot of good stuff down in Margret River and the South West, the adventure caves which back in that time would have been all unmanaged free access. Surfing and 4WDing were also popular passtimes in Margret river (Yellingup) for me when a teenager. If your ever in Perth again make sure you touch base, and I can show you over the cars and go for a spin.Mike

We tried our surfing abilities down there, but our skills could only be described as 'deathwish' - more a matter of survival. Unbelievable breakers. Must be a great place to grow up - just look how well you turned out! ;-). Indeed I will reach out if I am able to make good on my wish to revisit Australia. The same to you.
