Default "Living With" an Espada?

Good morning,

An old thread had a response from the late JRV, saying that "there is probably nothing on the car I haven't repaired or rebuilt" on a customer's 40k mile '72 Espada. Now I know that's now a 35yr old car. Are they really that fragile, or are these simply age vs lack-of use issues? The car is obvously being driven ~1000 miles a year. Would a well-maintained Espada stand up to 5k-8k of annual use? Cheers,

David

That's interesting, and encouraging, to know, Matthew. Thanks for your response!

Default Living With Espada

David I would recommend adding an electronic fuel management system though which will make it more reliable. I will get the details from my mechanic of whats involved. Basically you are getting rid of a lot of problems if you do this. The other obvious point is it will depend greatly on the car you start with it in terms of who has been maintaining it and what their expertise is with Lamborghinis of that age. The number of people who know what they are doing with these cars and who are able or willing to work on them gets less every year unfortunately. All part of ageing and decaying unfortunately Let me know if you a car out there, Ill try to help in some way , as to what to look for . I am confident you can do at least the mileage you mention and more. The actor Nicholas Cage regularly drives his around LA Cheers Matthew

Thanks again, Matthew.

I relate to the N Cage reference, which I'm aware of.....here's a guy who can afford just about anything, but has the sense to actually buy and drive an "affordable classic". Very nice on his part, I'd say. Cheers mate,

David
