I watched every minute of it. I liked Palin's answers (on paper) better than Biden's...it helps that I'm a Republican through and through...but if you're giving the "win" to the better debater in terms of speaking skills, presence and points made, Biden "won" the debate. I give the win to Palin with regard to what she said, how she carried herself, and her policy with McCain.
I hope it's a case of Biden winning the debate, and McCain winning the presidency. Palin's decision making seems sound to me, I could care less if she's a great public speaker/debater or not. BTW I also cannot stand George Bush, I think he's an embarrassment to my party and to our nation. Thank God he's out for good now. |

I don't know I thought the smiles and shaking of the head served to remind of just how inexperienced Palin is. And come on, she winked at the camera how many times? The woman is just trying to sell herself. She answered each question with what sounded like a pre-written sound bite referring to some McCain policy. Biden at least seemed to keep things profession in his answers, Palin's references to "Joe Six-Pack and hockey moms" made me gag. Just the two cents of a college student attending one of the most liberal schools in the nation

I cannot fathom how one's personal idiosyncrasies are related to their ability to lead, or how it is related to their experience. On experience, Palin has more EXECUTIVE experience than BOTH Obama AND Biden, and there is no way to deny this. Biden was reading for every response, you could see him do it. He would look down, move his eyes, begin speaking, look up, finish a sentence, then look down to begin another. On top of that, almost nothing he said was factual. I'll admit Palin through in some bs and was incorrect on a number of things, but her mistakes were no where near the magnitude or number of Biden's. To not admit this is intellectual dishonesty.

I personally think that McCain would be a decent president, at least better than Obama for two reasons: Obama has a lot of socialist ideas and he wants free health care for eveybody. A reform might be necessary but to make Health care free would be a disaster because so many people would take advantage of it and our taxes would increase by a margin of at least 30 to 50%. In Canada they take 70% of what you earn because of all the free stuff they hand out and i really doubt that if someone is making $1 million annually they would want $700,000 taken away from their wages. I prefer McCain for many other reasons but some of Obama's ideas are ridiculous. The last thing this country needs i more spending especially after this necessary $700 billion bailout

Well one thing is for sure taxes are going up no matter who's in office. It makes me made when I hear either of them talk about tax cuts because they really think we're stupid.
The thing that put Obama over the top is that he represents more government regulation, and people want that over the free market system right now because they are dissolutioned, and are being devastated by it. |

That is true but Obama wants to raise taxes higher than McCain. I know the stock market and companies need to be more regulated for this to not happen again, but many people lost thousands and millions from the fall of the market. Tax cuts are impossible in a time like this. Has more government regulation always been a good thing?
