I quit a little over 5 years ago after smoking for 15+ years. I started again recently for no apparent reason except a couple we hang with smokes (maybe I was bored) and stopped again last weekend. Wish me luck!

My wife gave it up 8 years ago for me.

I love it so much. Why is everything that is so bad for you, taste so damn good! I quit for my kids. I don't want them doing it and cannot preach it if I am doing it. Neither of them have seen me smoke a cig but my daughter (12) knows that I did. I showed her the patch yesterday and said "I am doing this for you". She smiled at me.

There are so many reasons to quit

your children
your wife
your health
your lambo (yes that's right - I said YOUR LAMBO)
- you'll have more money for gas and aftermarket exhaust and whatever
- your car won't smell like cigarettes (even if you don't smoke in it YOU'LL
smell like cigarettes at least to some degree)
all the people in your life who love you and look up to you

so many good reasons.....

Great post Carol. I never smoked in the house, car etc but yes, the smell will follow.

It's very hard to quit when you have friends that smoke. You may need to avoid them for a while. Sounds harsh but that's the reality.

We actually have not been out with them in a few weeks due to schedule conflicts. It has made it easier
