Well here we go

I was driving home with my g/f at around 1030 last night.
I was doing about 65- 70 in the fast lane in my explorer when this guy in a g35 coupe started tailgating me and flashing his brights. I moved out of the way and watched as he did the same thign to three other cars. He was swerving in and out of traffic. I said f&%$ this guy and caught up to him and started flashing my brights at him. Not to over do it. Just enough so he would get the message.
The guy comes to a screeching halt. I tried to pass him on the left but he kept blocking the lasne. I slowed down a bit and he hit the brakes again. I tried to pass him again and then he literally tried to ram into my right side. Had I not of moved into the far left lane he would of slammed me for sure. He blocked all of the exits for about a quater of a mile not letting me off the highway.

Finally I tricked him into thinking I was going to go around another car but instead darted to the right to get off the highway.

It was like something out of a movie. I was too caught up in driving to get his license plate. I wish I had.

Anybody else have story like this

wow , li here too . i hate people like that . im the type of guy that would want to beat the piss outaa someone like that . i may drive fast but i never cut people off , tailgate or cause intentional unsafe driving conditions with motorists directly near me . just not cool . i dont do anything to anyone that i woudnt want done to me . what road was it ? lie or n state or ss or 27 ?

GDrake - happened to me once. He pissed me off so bad, I got into a rage and played his game and almost the same thing happened, he tried to ram me off the road. Literally these people are ****ing insane. My heart was racing that entire day. Now if anything like that happens I just move over and let them do what they do, and hopefully..just hopefully.. they'll spin out and get totaled without hurting anyone else.

I have the worst road rage when it comes to people like that. It seems to be a daily occurance here in Chicago. Best thing to do......hell I have not figured it out yet but when I do I will let you know.

Sorry but I gotta jump on this. Not trying to start anything here but the problem is that you were going 65-70 in the fast lane. THe thing is. It really isn't the fast line. It is the passing lane. It is an unofficial (in some states official) rule that you don't ride in the left lane, especially not if you are going slow, and if you are, you move over when people come up on you. In Europe when you flash your headlights, drivers get out of your way. By doing this traffic flows smoother. Cruising in the left lane makes about as much sense as slamming on your brakes and not signaling when your turn, or slamming on your brakes to gawk at an accident.

And while what the other drive did to retaliate it pretty retarded, I do understand his frustration. I live in Houston and bad drivers (left lane blockers, people who don't signal, people who block merging) cause a lot of unnecessary traffic. I get annoyed when people run up on my ass, and I bitch about it, but at least I get out of their way b4 I start bitching.

And BTW. Joing platewire.com. I love this website. Whenever people drive like crap you take down their lisence plate and post a "wire" about them. For $2 you can actually send them a message to their house.

a-kon, are you serious? Did you not actually read this post? GDrake said he was going 65-70. Maybe this WAS above the speed limit, did you consider that? Maybe he was in the process of passing someone too. And GDrake DID move when this doof came up on him, not just "cruise" in the left lane, which is what you are "b*tching" about. We all know about what to do when you get lights flashed at you, your not making any news breaks here. Let me ask you, in the heat of the moment, would you have done the same thing, or would you have been the G35 driver?

lmao shawn . I have zero tolerance for **** like that , i guess you can call it roid rage , i mean road rage . lolololololol . I just live by the rule dont do anything to anyone that you wouldnt want done to you . If i were to do that to someone i would expect an open door and a guy flying out to confront me too ....

Like I said not trying to start anything so don't take this all personally. I must have misread. But in response to you saying 65-70 could have been above the speed limit, it does not matter. If there is a decent amount of traffic on the road then you should never cruise in the left lane. Use it as a passing lane. As for flashing higbeams. If you really think that most people are aware of that (or ackowledge it) try driving around town (or at least in Houston, Austin, and San antonio) and flash your brights at people holding up the left lane. Maybe 1 in 50 actually moves over. This is also taking into account the fact the i am "politely" flashing them, giving the other driver plenty of time to move over.

I don't want to annoy anyone over this but living in Houston this is a constant problem. It's all about being courteous. If I can tell someone behind me is in a hurry, I move. I don't play judge. I don't decide the since the speed limit is X and I am doing X, I don't have to move. I move anyways. even if the other guy is being a dickwad.
The only time I don't move over is when it's a nervous prick riding up on me without giving me time to move. It isn't the autobaghn. I usually screw with these people also.

So sorry for offending you. I just hate it when people block the left lane and I saw an opportunity to vent so I did.
