Default Internships?

So as I'm an undergraduate in my sophomore year on the east coast, I've been looking for something to do with myself this summer rather than just return to Utah and find work. I started just looking around at some of the manufacturers' websites, Bentey, Aston Martin, Mclaren, and others in the hopes that maybe just maybe one of them would have some sort of internship program for undergrads interested in sales/marketing/advertising/public relations. Well, turns out that Bentley has a program that I think I'll look into, and then I thought "hey, Bentley is a member of the Volkswagen group, I wonder if other brands might have internships....maybe even the ultimate car company, Lamborghini?"

So I guess what I'm taking a long time to get around to is, does anybody know if Lamborghini has some sort of internship program? I'm not looking for an apprenticeship, just something like a 3 month summer program where I can really see what the exotic auto industry is like from the inside. And along those lines, I was mostly looking at British marques for the sake of language (and I don't really think I want to be spending much time with GM, Chrysler, or Ford due to present circumstances), does anyone know which language Lamborghini uses for business purposes? I would assume English being a cocky American and all , but really in all seriousness with German ownership and an Italian workforce, which one wins? I'm relatively fluent in French.... maybe I should be looking to Bugatti ?

Anyways, if anyone knows anything I would really appreciate some advice, I've been looking at some political internships as well but this would really be a once in a lifetime kind of experience, something that if I don't at least try, I'll probably regret. So yeah, thanks again!

Well, I hope your grades kick a$$. I looked (though not seriously) at the major programs and they wanted people that had 4.0 GPA's and such, from Ivy league type schools (not my style anyway). I was always in the 3.3 to 3.7 GPA range, because I wanted to develop social skills too . At any rate, look at VW, you might be able to wriggle your way in to Lambo OR Bugatti (remember they are VW owned, not French anymore). But most likely, the best you'll do is Audi, because I'm sure that to go to L or B, you have to "know people". As usual.

I'm at Yale in New Haven, kind of hoping the name might convince somebody in one of these companies to give me a chance

Both undergrad and MBA @ Bellevue University (a small accredited local school). Finished in '06. I did go one year to Iowa State, and I'd say the ed @ the smaller school (Bellevue) was better - no 500 person sociology and geology classes. The bias in any school's economics program toward Keynesianism is baffling and disheartening. If you are taking Econ, make sure you do your own reading on the Austrian school, particularly Ludwig Von Mises. And with any other class (especially those mired in "theory") make sure you read some contrarian texts. It will help you understand the material taught in class better, even if you don't agree with it. What's amusing is, I'm learning more by picking my own texts to read now that school is finished. Just remember, real world application is key.

I would hope that YALE would make a difference in your quest. No in-school intern programs that can make this happen for you? The connections at YALE with businesses has got to be huge or at least through the alumni network. My son has applied early to YALE this year and I'm encouraged with his chances and the school. Unfortunately, when we visited in June this year there were like 2 murders on Chapel street.... My wife wasn't too happy with that.

You have some time to find this intern opportunity and I'm sure that with your determination it will happen. Good luck to you!

Well, let's see, almost a year and no real response. . . I'd say you're out of luck. Thanks for bumping a dead thread, though.
