We went to the Formula races at Watkins Glen in the late '70s. There were almost zero restrictions on where you could go inside the track. We walked from corner to corner and stood right next to the blue rails.

It was always in Sept/Oct, always raining, always cold. We wore Hefty bags for rain gear (it was all us college kids had) and would watch them zoom past on their rain tires. It was deafening and amazing.

Today you can't get nearly as close but it's still exciting to watch. I hope we can get to Austin for a race.

Very cool to watch the team mates put their individual interest aside to help each other. Brazil will be very interesting.

You should try to make it down to Austin next year, its totally worth it.

No way, you saw them at the Glen? That's awesome. I can't imagine a cooler place to watch F1, except maybe the original road course.

Brazil definitely will be interesting. Can even watch the actual race live since they're in a similar time zone.
