Most true artist detailers charge by the hour, so the price you paid isn't something you should regret, unfortunately some detailers aren't worth that type money. When you can demand a dime for a detail, you better blow your clients away. A grand as far as I am concerned is translated into perfect defect free paint (which of course isn't always possible without touchup and sanding many cases) as well as a very thorough cleansing and dressing of interior surfaces. Every stitch of surface needs to be brought to it's highest potential, and completely shrink proof, and your knowledge (client pending) needs to sky rocket.

Of course a job like that could mean different things to different detailers but I would steer clear of anyone suggesting they will sand your car down for 400 dollars, like I said, you gotta go through thousands of detailers to find one sometimes.

The service he advertising as perfection doesn't have an astrik next to it saying "Since I don't have exotic experience and really have never done this before, I will spend hours surfing the web and calling detailers who actually do this work for a living, even if I am working in there area. Then after they help me fix the mistakes I have made like using the wrong grade sandpaper or not having the corect polishes, I will go around the internet bragging how I am best" by any chance does it?

Oh and AGT, it can get a lot more expensive than $1000 btw, I just didn't want you to feel like you were taken to the cleaners.

No wonder the "Teaser of the Year" hasn't surfaced yet:

This must be the worst move of this guys now defunct career. Just think about it, this guy pissed off the one community where his services and price would make sense and possibly flourish.

In my old job (home cinema designer), mistakes happened. But we fixed our errors to a point where the customer was practically thrilled with our fu$ked up because of all the free sh!t we threw in to make up for it. Thus the word of mouth of a "job well done" gets passed around and your reputation makes the sales for you.

But I don't need to you guys this. I am sure you all understand the value of reputations and integrity. That's why we are able to live the lifestyles we do.

If he just did the right thing, I am sure AGT would of said, "you know what, this guy took a while but the job was right in the end and I would recommend him". To fix the mistake he would of probably had to do the job at a loss but the sales that would of come from it could of made up for that.

Or even better yet, had he not took an unwarranted stab at me, and made this thread so available to those who know this business inside and out, he probably wouldn't have drummed up such negative feedback and publicity. I think it's time to retire the old phrase "any publicity is good publicity".
