Default Maserati quattroporte

Been driving one of these for the last week - not a bad car - handles nioce - not so crazy about the tranny shifting - it jerks a little during gear changes - same drivetrain as an F430 from what I understand - Bentley GT is alot better!

ur right about the shifting, it is jerky.. and the engine is based on the 360 modena....

but as i knwo if u put ur pedal to the metal , it would react as any true italian should react...

Is it the base model or the sport? Supposidly the Sport's tranny shifts better but I've heard it still has its share of issues.

I drove a Grand Sport with the Cambiocorsa transmission, and hated it. The thing had a mind of it's own as if the computer was telling me what it wanted to do. Give me that stick!

The engine is not "based on the 360" at all.

It was developed by Maserati and the block is used by the 430.

Interestingly I find the grand sport cambiocorsa system fantastic. I'm not sure why people expect these cars to drive as smooth as an automatic.
