That would be a De Lorean DMC-12.

Deloreans were made for two years in the early 80s before they went bankrupt. They were known for their gull-wing doors and a stainless steel exterior.

Haven't you see back to the future?

Looks fast, but barely reaches 120 mph. There's one driving around in my neighbourhood. Silly car, if you ask me.

The cars maker was more famous than the car. John Deloren, a Maverick executive for GM in the 60's designed the GTO and others. Car was built in Northern Ireland, production was interrupted by violence and work stoppages. Poor quality along with no room, "except for a set of golf clubs" as he was once quoted, and the fact that you could only get it in stainless which didn't allow for customer choice was the car's down fall. When the company was near bankrupt, John attempted a huge drug deal to raise cash and was caught in a sting. The End...Probably more than you wanted to know, but it just came back to me.

....also had a major problem w/taking care of the paint since it was a stainless steel exterior. you will notice if you see one up close...not sure how it could ever been waxed? seemed to have slight grooves in it....

The car was fitted with many GM parts, part of the marketing was that you could take it to a GM dealer if it required any service. I believe it was a GM powerplant.

As for the stainless and waxing, that is the best part it is stainless you can use an SOS(steel wool) pad on the car to clean it and get it bright again like you do to your kitchen sink. Then you can apply any car polish as a sealer.

Most will recognize the car from the movies Back to the Future.

I heard somewhere that he had used the car to smuggle drugs and got caught.
