Not to argue, but we do live in California and dealers DO charge for "California Emissions" as an extra charge whether the M3 is 50-state legal or not. It's an itemized extra charge in California. One of the prices we must pay for perfect weather

OK, so I'm wrong. It just seems silly though. Maybe if your state wasn't broke. . .

BTT: I actually like the M3, its not a pure-bred sportscar but I dont think it was ever meant to be. I like to think of it as a luxury Lotus.

I had an opportunity to drive a new '08 M3 4-door sedan this week.

While I'll agree that it may not be the most visually exciting/stirring body design, I must say that the car feels incredibly nice. It's solid, has excellent steering feel, and the throttle/brake response through the pedals is magic. The Germans have figured out the correct pressure and feedback feel, IMO.

I'd drive one in a heartbeat, although for that price there are others I'd personally consider. It's not quite "young" enough looking for me, but that's just my ego talking.

Just test drove an M3 today. They have one at $51K but basic options. I think pretty good for an M3. Fully loaded is $70K. Discount up to $2,000.00 from MSRP.

The car I drove had a regular tire (not low profile) and it feels bouncy and soft but lots of power. On the otherhand, I test drove a Lexus ISF and it feels very solid and powerful. I think I like the ISF better but I would need to test drive both cars again to see which one is better.

You should test a fully loaded m3. My friend borrowed his friend's m3 and gave me and another one of my friends a ride. He took it up to 75 from a stoplight. it was pretty amazing =]. Did you test drive a e90 or e92? Are you planning on purchasing one or something?

I am not very familiar with M3 so I don't know if it is e90 or e92 but I know it is the latest model. I may try to test drive it again. Yes I am planning to get another car as a toy car for weekends but cannot make up my mind
