Hi; i am very intrested to know what the export rules are on new cars, Is it possible to export a new car outside of the US, when the car is under financing ?
What are the rules and regulations of exporting a brand new car?
reason i am asking this is because the dealers here in ME (Middle East) are ripping us off, for example there can only be and there is only one Lamborghini dealer, and the prices are insane for example 2007 Gallardo is going for 260K $, BMW M3 coupe starting at 100K $, Porsche Cayanne GTS starting at 116K $, please if anyone has the above information how how to get around exporting new cars please PM me or just post a reply.

That's funny. What type of van do you have in mind? You said a C-Class or a 3 series BMW earlier, which specific model? This is none of my business, but you were really considering a M3/M5 for your son's first car? How old is he?! What halted you to not buy a car for him then and there in the first place? If you do get the M3, I hope he can drive a Manual transmission car, but there's a Dual Clutch Transmission coming out for the M3 soon. Gears will be changed with either a shift lever or paddle shifters. The M5 has paddle shifters with a SMG transmission available, you might know since you test drove one (unless it was the 6 speed version). Sorry for all the questions/comments, but I find this topic pretty interesting as I am a BMW enthusiast.

Now that's a good looking car .
And Walt: buying the kid a van seems like a pretty good idea to me: it's slower, safer, and bigger, so he will have to learn how to manoeuvre, which is always good.
Sorry if I sound like Dr. Phil here

Hi Neil, I am just joking about the van. I don't think my son would like to drive a van. I am thinking either C-class Benz or 3 series bimmer, whichever is slower but SAFE. He don't know how to use manual shift.

Hi Jef or shall I say Dr. Phil

I planned to buy a slower and safer car for my kid. I am still in the process of deciding which one but I am leaning more toward Benz (C class) or 3 series BMW.

get him a H1 hummer or something, big, solid, slow, he'll have to work that thing
Why not the new A4? They come in Quattro, so less chance of oversteer, and those few times it rains in SoCal, it's slippery as hell, so it'll come in handy

they really messed up with the back. It doesn't match or balance with the front. Some more aggressive fenders would clear that up...
