Thoughts a day after seeing the new model: Overall, I like it. Not sold on the Camaro rear, but love the side profile. Has about the power bump I expected, and from the dyno they showed a month or two ago, the LT1 will have a sexy torque curve. Interior looks awesome too.
I guess the word on the final curb weight is a point of discussion with some of the Vette guys. Initial (read: apparently leaked from insiders) reports are that it'll be the same or heavier than the C6 coupe. I guess we'll see! |

As a European, I have to say it looks good. Way better than the previous, even though you can see a lot of "Ferrari influence" in the red one IMO. Does it still have leave springs? Because thatīs not very popular here haha! But judging from the pics, I really like it.

This is definitely going to be my next car. I watched the reveal live and couldn't be happier with the direction they're taking the new generation Camaro. LT2 /w Z51 package. Yup. That settles it.
EDIT: Freudian slip! I meant corvette. Last edited by solidhadriel; 01-14-2013 at 01:50 PM. |

I don't like the Camaro tail lights on the Camaro that much, really don't like them here.
The front 3/4 profile does look good though, definitly looks Ferrarriesque, but that can't be bad right?

No sarcasm here.
I'm being serious. I think it would be a good step-up from my current car (Mustang). Being 22, its realistic for me to afford this in the next couple years. Assuming my income remains the same. ![]() ![]() Assuming I meet my financial goals this year (highly probable), I'll be able to afford this car much sooner. By the way, at first glance I too thought the tails looked like a Camaro's. After further inspection I don't think they are anything like the current Camaro tail lights. The only thing in common between the two, is they both aren't round. |

Leaf springs - yes, but much of the "plastic" (fiberglass) has been replaced by carbon fiber. And seriously, with the interior upgrades and addition of carbon fiber, if they invested in a new suspension for the base model, the price would cost closer to $80-90K. If I had to guess, the C7 Z06 version will have mid-500 HP and a better suspension; as a result, it'll cost ~ $100K. |
