2013 SRT Viper GTS

Anyone else extremely impressed with this car? third in the world for weight to speed ratio behind only the veyron and the F12(yes slightly ahead of the lp700) Largest tires on any supercar in the world. Ferrari seats and 5 driving modes including launch control. all with 640 hp in a 8.4l V10 engine. Considering an order on the launch edition. Thoughts?

I am considering ordering one also. I am sure the first few years will have bugs that will need to be worked out, but it is a great platform. I see a set of twins on mine.

impressive I'd be interested if and when it will be available . I heard this car is still a looong ways off from full production. I could be wrong but this came from some people very close to the factory. We'll see.

From what I understand delivery will start in mid January. Supposedly 60 cars are to be built for dealer demo's, and then 150 Launch Editions will be built first, then other customer orders will be built. VCA members should have order priority, which is nice for an OEM to recognize, and reward their loyalty.

that has been my understanding^^^^with the exception of the last statement. I've reached out to about 1/2 dozen SRT dealers with the launch edition allocation and it seems bidding and pricing is at their descretion and all they care about is money, not someone's membership in a club. one dealer told me they want $20k over sticker. I found the allocation for car number 14 and that dealer seems a lot more reasonable. Looks like a ferrari wearing viper colors; love it.

Well, contact a supporting vendor like Tomball Dodge (contact is Bernie Katz) or Woodhouse Dodge (contact is Bill Pemberton). Both are advertising MSRP pricing for their cars, and will most likely have a higher allocation than any other dealer, based on their prior order history. For the custom build cars, VCA members are getting priority on build order to the non-VCA members. Good luck!

Yeah but when someone has an "F" rating in the BBB a red flag goes up. Plus I prefer local if possible so I don't end up in the DMV for 10 hours like I did when I purchased my Lamborghini out of State. Regardless I really like how it's not a Dodge anymore and how the interior drastically improved. Those were definitely items that kept me away from the snake in the past.

I'm quite a fan of it myself. I love that in today's day and age they still managed to shove an 8.4 liter V10 into a car. I mean, that's an Aventador engine with the added displacement of a small car.

Emissions? Screw it!

agree. pretty sure its the biggest naturallu aspirated engine out there. In the looks dept I also agree. The launch edition I'm considering is GTS Blue with White Racing stripes. Love the body styling and led lights too.

I realize that owner manuals arent in hand for the 2013 as of yet but does anyone know what the anticiapted service interval is on the car? Frequency of oil & filter change? Frequency of brake flush? Supposedly these are the largest tires on any supercar in the world; wonder what they are rated at for wear/replacement in terms of miles? Like the lambo, every driver is different but what is the average anticipated clutch life?

Any generation IV Viper owners who can share on those models? I posted the same query on the Viper forum and await responses.
