Default 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1

2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 unveiled

After years of speculation, spy photos, and rumors, General Motors has finally revealed its 2009 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, which will be on display at the Detroit auto show in January. As expected, the ZR1 is the most powerful and most expensive Corvette model ever.

An all-new LS9 motor produces 620 horsepower at 6500 rpm and 595 pound-feet of torque at 4000 rpm. Delivering 100 horsepower per liter, the supercharged 6.2-liter V8 is mated to a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox with a new high-capacity clutch designed for the increased power. The twin-disc 260mm design provides plenty of clamping power, while maintaining a relatively easy clutch action.

Price in the low $100,000.00 range.
So it is super fast, so what, it is STILL just a Corvette, never will be a Lamborghini or Ferrari.

With that idiotic hood, I'd rather have a Nissan GT-R.

It's going to be a monster with tha much horsepower but it's still going to be a Corvette. Big engine, big tires, big deal. When they don't dump them in the market like every other Chevy they build, put some craftsmanship in them, give them a soul, and get even mediocre quality control then the Corvette will be something special. If GM wants a flagship then they need to build a limited edition super car that doesn't look like every corvette on the road with a bunch of fast and the furious add ons.

This car was just changed, isnt the 2005 Corvette still considered "New"

Anyway car still looks good except whats up with that hood? Looks like that clear thing in there fogs up when the car is warm.

And whos gonna pay $100,000 for a car you see every day.

They are making about 2000 a year. Thats alot many Corvettes out there as compared to 3000 Murcies in 5 years. I would still buy this car just to enjoy the 620 horses and prepare myself to drive a V12 Lamborghini. I mean how many cars you come across on a road in a day with 620 horses and a mid 3s 60 time. Bang for the buck!!!.

I think its the nicest looking vette yet!
I would still wait for the upcomming C7, there are rumours it might be a mid engine car trying to take the world stage.
