Default Up and Coming Restore of Garage

To the members,

Hello, I am SymbolicLink one of JRV's new Administrators. I know you all have been threw alot the last few months. I hope you have seen the positive things that have happened since the changes. The reason I am posting this is that we are about ready to try a restore of only the garages that are missing or corrupt by merging the current garage table with the old garage table. I would recommend that members don't upload/create any new garages until further notice. We will perform a full backup of the Site tonight around Midnight Central Standard Time. I will not be able to guarantee anything changed after Midnight. I assure you that the missing garages are nothing that we did. The links are missing from the MySQL database and we follow best practices and never remove MySQL links only the attachments. As I said we are about to try a restore. If you have any questions or comments please post them here or contact me at SymbolicLink@hotmail.com.

Thank you in advance for your patience and understanding in this matter.

Welcome SymbolicLink.

Good Luck!

Do you have anything to do with the threads loading in reverse?

Thanks SI LAMBO I am glad to be a part of such a great Forum.. Yellow Murci - I am unsure as of yet exactly what happened. But I am sure that the members didn't delete there own garages. I have 2 months worth of logs to read to see if I can figure out who did what..

The main reason I am posting is that we can resume garage upload because I have to do a little research before I can restore.. The steps to the restore are pretty indepth.. I am in the process of build Virtual machine running RedHat Enterprise Server. After I finish this then I will do a full restore from my backups.. After that I have to do a table backup of only the garage.. Then I have to take that backup and find a way to merge it with the current table in the MySQL database.. The reason this process is so involved is because I am making sure we loose nothing in the restore. I could just restore the table but then all new garages would be gone. All I ask is be patient I am a Enterprise Solutions Architect not a Database Administrator so I will have to do a little catchup with MySQL and PHP..
Thanks SymbolicLink

It sounds like your using Linux software. Very good choice for security, but think have to be turned on. I have a person that knows it very well, especially databases. If you need information, please let me know.

SI LAMBO,
We currently have the site hosted due to the Bandwidth it is using.. It is hosted on a 4 processor Linux machine.. The security hole are in the application not the operating system.. JRV chose Linux for the security. We have implemented many security practices in the last few months.. we are currently in the process of patching the application. It is a slow process as you can see. I would appreciate any assistance you can give in restoreing or merging Mysql tables or a contact that I could bounce a few questions off of.

Thanx SymbolicLink
