Suggestion..instant messenger ?
Hello there,
I don't know much about computers,so forgive me if this is a stupid idea... (I'm a pure Microsoft generation product, kind of..if you're ok, click OK, if not, click NOT OK...). What you guys do for the L-Talk is absolutely fantastic ! I just had a thought...would it be possible, under certain security factors, to set a sort of instant messenger, or instant Private Chat with our buddies when they appear to be connected to the forum. That would be really great for people like me, traveling a lot, trying to stay in touch with the boys around the planet  Just a though.. Thanks Last edited by Ayanami : 06-01-2006 at 09:18 PM.

Well, last time it was mentioned most thought the idea was useless, but times change and we're going into our 6th yr. So there's no reason why we can't have a live chat room. It will take me a few weeks to figure out how to configure it for global access, but we'll get it done!

hows about a live 'shout box' on the side of the forums instead
that way instead of moving away from the forums page, we can browse and chat. similiar to i.m. having a thread for chat, then we'll increase the post counts and do we really need to have every persons reply clogging up the server. just an idea. and here's a forum board that i hang out at with v-bulletin info. shoutbox vbulletin forum

From what i have seen Chat rooms in forums dont work out well... but regardless, its am idea to be different. For the most part "Chat" is what the forum is about anyway wouldnt think you need a special box to converse in....
This place has alot of members but very few on at the same time... i check in several times a day, and usually its about 2 or 3 members on at the same time... would seem rather pointless IMO. Just my two cents...
