Hi Jay,
Is it possible to do a search for ,let's say, all the posts for the past 8 hours?This was very helpfull on the old site.It was nice because for example if you came back after 4 hours,the search would bring you to the newest post w/o having to read the whole thread and try to find out which one is new.

I agree, whilst the new look of this site is great, IMHO it in no way as nearly user friendly ( It´s my age you see !! )

The top left block on the home page will tell you how many new posts there has been since your last visit. You can hit that link or the 'new posts' link on the lower menu bar. Both will list all the threads with new posts since your last visit. On the thread you want to read, click the little down arrow icon to go directly to the new posts in that thread or click the thread name to start at the beginning. This feature was never available on the old site. Also, when reading a thread there is a small square icon. If it's blue the post is old. Orange if it's new.

You can also click on 'search' then advanced and search for any time frame you want and many more options.

I think that once people get used to the software they will find it provides far more functionality than the old site. It can do everything the old site did and more. There is ofcourse a learning curve but don't let that scare you off. It's not that hard. Most icons have pop-up help to tell you what they mean. Just leave your mouse on them for a second.

Explore, try things out. Not sure what a icon or link does? Click on it and find out. You will not cause the site to crash.
