When I view the Calender I see some additions apparently, howver I only the name of the poster and no details of the event. What's up?

It looks like it will show birthdays whenever the member confesses in their user profile.

I thought it was an event Calender so we could keep track of important upcoming events.

It does show birthdays as Larry has indicated. It will also allow anyone to add other events. Click 'Add New Event' and a post window pops up for you to enter any and all info you want. Set the title of the post to the event name (That will show on the calender). Then when someone clicks on the event it will display the complete post info.

It will also allow users to set a reminder for an event so the system will email or pm them a few days ahead of time.

Take a look at October 16. This will be a very handy function.

Nice! If you start a thread in the 'Events' topic then you can place a link to that event in the posting on the calender. That way people who look at the cal can go directly to the topic for discussion on the event.
