Default Weber Carb Parts

Dear All,

I am currently overhauling all my carbs.
After loads of phoning around and getting put off by people who had no idea what about what they were talking about - I finally got lucky and had the find of the year!

"Antony" at http://www.fastroadcars.co.uk/ (tel 01495 244362) was just so helpful - and went way beyond the call of duty!
He was also happy to offer advice of setting up float levels and other possible sticky points when rebuilding the carbs.
He was also VERY knowledgable re the 44 DCNF Carb (which incidentally has different jets in it depending if you are euro spec or not!).

It made a refreshing change to contact a company that genuinely cared!

Just thought I'd pass this info on.

Best Regards

Ian

Default Main jet size

Dear All

I wonder if anyone out there can help????

I'm am just servicing all of my carbs - all is going well, and I've found quite a few concerns which I have put right along the way.

However..... I've ust come to replace the main running jets.
Already fitted are 150 jets - but on my spec sheet it says 135 size jets should be fitted!!

Does any one know what one is right???

My CT is a 1986 QV (Euro spec with sports exhaust).

As always, many thanks for any help offered.

Best Regards

Ian

When a sport exhaust was installed they put also bigger mainjets in the carbs, I suppose that's the reason.
IME that's the wrong way since the mainjet delivers enough fuel when the throttle is fully open, you have to chain the air correction to get more fuel in the sligthly open state, some mechanics just turn the idle mixture to rich, since the idle jet delivers most of the fuel in mixed condition.

There are many Weber parts supplier around the world, ask f.e. Ant Hawkes from the UK Club.
We get them here locally from a weber specialist.
