I finally got Lamborghini to admit they have been selling parts they knew were no good.
The reason I and many other 5000S owners have had problems with the thrust bearings was not the bearing itself but the pressure plates.
They had a batch made that had much too much pressure required to operate them, eventually on all of them the bearing collar failed.
The new one that has just been fitted to my car (again, and at great expense ) is about 30% lighter operate than th previous clutch, they have also given an unlimited one year warrantee with it.
Anyone recently fitted a new clutch and pressure plate that did not come from the factory in the last few months better be prepared to fit another one soon.
If anyone needs a clutch kit I have one complete, with the heavier pressure plate but fitted with an upgraded collar as supplied by Eric, thanks again eric.
