Default Throttle body sync, 1992 Diablo

I need to figure out the best way to adjust the throttle body sync, is it with the rods? Or with the screws that hold the butterfly open? I have made some adjustment to my linkage to get them much closer, nowI have a 7 and a 5 trouble code, I have cleared them but they come back, the car is running very good, so I think it is with the throttle body sync that is tripping the codes. The codes are for speed sensor and air sensor. I ran out of time this weekend but how I have it now is that at idle I am pulling equal vacuum, but when I start to apply throttle they go off and one is pulling more then the other.

You can't adjust the long rods for idle. You need to use the air screw under the throttle bodies. If you do the rods, your butterflies will open different from each other and won't be in sync.

OK, so now that they are f'd up...........how do I put them back? Should I put the accelerator peddle all the way down and adjust rods so both butterflies are fully open, and then when they retract they should evenly go back down to idle?

Or measure at half throttle and adjust one or the other rod?

By the way they were already out of sync when I got the car.

Thanks

What I would do it this.

adjust your long rods while the butterfies are closed. make sure there is no slack in the rods. have someone push the gas pedal slowy down and keep an eye on the butterflies so they open evenly. The first butterflies should open evenly along with the secondary butterflies.

To adjust the idle, use the air screws on the bottom of the throttle bodies and use a vacuum meter to make sure equal vacuum is being pulled.

Thanks, I did just that with my son working the gas pedal. It seems to be running alot better now. I have a few more adjustments to make and it should be good to go.

Topcarbon, its just a car..........get your hands dirty! I am far from the DIY like silvergts1998, I just like to tinker and repair stuff that is usually f-d up by the previous owner.

silvergts1998 will take out a motor and pop it back in an afternoon.............Thats DIY at its best!
