Default Spark plug question

What is the difference between a resistor and non-resistor spark plug?? Is one or the other recommended? Pro's, Con's to each? These would be going in a 1992 Diablo.

Forget everything about spark plugs and install what is recommended, the power gain is in no way worth the risk you are taking.

See the sticky above for more info on standard tune up parts you can purchase locally.

If you're doing it for the first time, here's a tip that will save a lot of time.
Snap out the throttle linkage = much easier to get at and remove plugs.
Stand on side of car, grab the rail at the end near the ball joint and give it a decent pull.... will snap right out.

Default Spark plug question

Thanks for the tip about the throttle linkage. That sounds much easier. The reason for my question wasn't to gain H.P. I want to do a tune up since I've only had the car for 2 months. The only auto parts place that could even hook me up around here gave me a price of 44.95 per plug. I called Champion directly and they recommended a Champion A59C for the Diablo. They said it was a non-resistor plug, and that was what the car needed. I was able to get them for 4.24 per plug. They look identical to what came out of the car. Have you ever heard of them?

Those are the same plugs the car came with from the Factory with one small exception..the A59C is a copper plug and originally the Factory used A59G, the G denotes Gold....just use the C's and you will be perfectly fine!

Recently a guy sold A59GC on ebay, I bought some sets from him and drive them in the CT, work perfect...
As I said no experiments with unknown plugs, I tried Denso at removed them soon with the champions.

Colin - I know what you mean. I bought a 92 Diablo a year ago and went through the car and did a tune up myself. The 13 year old car had 9K miles and the original plugs!

Anyway - remember to use anti-seize compound on the thread of the plugs because the block is aluminum.

Isn't the resistor plug used to reduce interference for the radio. Don't laugh if I'm wrong...Just heard that a long time ago.

I think the plug wires will produce much more interferences than the plugs.
