Default Rear Grill + Center Exhaust

How easy would it be to change the rear grill on a 92 Diablo to a newer or aftermarket one? What kind of cost would I be looking at, and where can you get a good deal on these? Also is the center exit exhaust stock on some year Diablos, or is it aftermarket. Could I do that with my 1992? I just think it looks awesome!

Pretty easy - a member (Andrew) did it. You can go with the newer grill all the way up to a 6.0. The 6.0 requries new tail lights.
Ball park numbers:
Grill is about 1400
Wire mesh (behind grill) 200
Siliver Lambo Script 180
Silver Lambo Bull 100

Get a parts book or call a dealer.. tell him what you want to do and the diagram will show all the parts above. The only thing you have to do is fabricate a small L shaped bracked to off set some screws in the back.

Tubi makes a 2 pipe center exhaust tip for about 1200 or so...I'm sure others do also. I have Tubi but stayed with 4 tip. What you can do (or try) and I will when I have some free time, is waping your tips. Let me explain:

Stand at the back of the car and you have two exhaust outlets. The 2 pipes on each side merge into 1 collector pipe. Anyway, you will note that the collector is pretty much centered. The exhaust tips bend out... one to the left and one to the right. The bolt patter is the same... so I'm thinking of "swaping" the left with the right. This would place the "bend" inward rather than outward and should result with 4 tail pipes almost centered with the rear.

Easy project and should take only 30 minutes to do... just have not had time yet. I'll do it in the next week or two and post some pix.

Pic's would be great! If you change the rear grill, do you also need to change the back-up lights? Aren't the newer ones in the rear bumper? I'm very new to the Lamborghini world so bear with me!

No prolem with the Q"s...
What Andrew did was dump them... I like them and they seem to put out a lot of light. You could, with little modification, have them set behind the grill on the inside. It would not give you a lot of light (for a camera) but it would at least clue the car behind you of your intentions to back up. Judgement call.

BTW - Good friend of mine owns the authorized Lambo body shop here. He said he could could out the grill and make inserts for the lights, but I don't think it would be a clean look.

Let me see if I can "borrow" some before and after pix from Andrew...

It's Thermal Research & Development - they might be in Sweden??? I seem to remember him saying that....

BTW - I just bought a new chopper for Xmas and I'm going to be busy with that for a few weeks. Anyway, I'm going to do the grill also and will do a write up with pix step by step. The only thing I'm going to do different is just have the script "Lamborghini" centered in the middle of the grill... just to give it a different look.

If you want the center out exhaust, you might want to look into MS Racing exhaust system
