Hello,
I live in Norway. Here there is no Lamborghini dealer and nowbody to ask. 1. Is there an easy way to check that the engine runs om all 12 cylinders? 2. On topp of the differencil there is a small "rod" which has something to do with breathing of the engine og the differancial. I had some oil coming out of the "rod". 3. Does the gearbox and differancial share the same oil. My differancial has a leak and I have had to fill more oil. I read that the total amount is 1.2 liters. I filled almost 2 liters before the oil ranover. 4.When the engine is running at a even rpm it is not running as it should be. Greatfull for some good answers. Jacob |

The transmission and rear end do not share the same oil. If you are using the wrong kind of rear end oil it can foam up and come out of the vent. Make sure you are not overfilling the rear end. fill it with the plug that is in the back of the cover. A sort of controversial way to determine if it is running on 12 cylinders is to pull the spark plug with the engine running and see if it drops a cylinder or idles differently. This can be hard because with a 12 cylinder the idle barely changes with a spark plug disconnected. The problem with this method is it can cause some cross arcing inside the distributor cap. That being said I did it with my 91 diablo and it did not hurt anything. Another thing you can do is get a temperature meter (the kind you point at things) and take temp readings of the pipes as they come out of the cylinder heads. Any cool pipes are probably not running.

Thank you Dave.
Are you sure that the vent is for the rear diff? The engine does have such a thing. I do not understand why the oil came out of the vent because i was only reving the engine and the was stand still. The diff. is not turning when the car is standing still? Best Regards Jacob |

I have my engine apart right now and I took a look at that vent and it does not go into my oil pan so I would think it would have to be for the differential, as to why it would leak when you revved the engine up I can't say. when it leaks, turn off the engine and reach down there and get some of the oil on your fingers and see if it smells like gear oil. My car had a leak in the same area and it turned out to be the seal behind the crankshaft/oil pump pulley, which is no real big deal to change. If you have a leak between the block and the oil pan that would be expensive. All differentials are vented to atmosphere so I would definately think that is for the rear end.

I saw you have the SVR I saw once, contact Karl Troy ( http://www.europeanroadandracing.com/ ) he has an SVR as well which is for sale:
http://www.sportscarmarket.com/class...ini-diablo-svr http://www.lambocars.com/archive/cotm/july04.htm ![]() Another idea is Forster in Stuttgart (www.lamborghini.de), Forster ran a SVR in the series and still has this car. Another option is Kremer (http://www.lamborghini-kremer.de/) , they also had a SVR running and might still help you with parts and advice. Unfortunately I have no experience with the modifications the SVR engine has compared to the normal one. As a last chance I would contact the factory, Valentino can for sure help you.
