Hi,
I'm in the process of having new Konis fitted to my 88 Countach QV, i went through a motorsport friend and ordered some fully adjustable konis, manufactured to the same dimensions as the original lambo units, as the shocks have threaded collars the ride height is also fully adjustable.
The springs are uprated and progressive (Not from koni, I was reccommended a different supplier due to quality and cost), so far i've only got the fronts, but the difference is staggering! the front just will not break away (although the back does because its so much softer than the new fronts!).
I'll check the prices and let you know what they cost.

Have been reading up on some threads here, and seeing the problems for sourcing shocks, isn't it a better idea to ask an independant manufacturer to build you shocks to fit your needs?

Most I know are in the Netherlands, must be a "shocking" country (actually it is, I live just next to it )

Default Shocks for a QV Countach

Hi All,

I have a 86 Euro spec QV Countach (and live in the UK).
I think the time has now come to replace all the shocks.

I have read this thread from start to finish.... but just need a little help.

Where do you reccomend I buy the shocks from?
How much do they cost?
Are Spax a good option?
Does anyone have any contact names or numbers?

Has anyone had their old shocks re-built?

As always... many thanks in advance

Best Regards

Ian

Ian, I can supply a set, front and rear, aluminum adjustable shocks for $2600.00 that is all 6 shocks. They are made by Aldan and I have sold many sets to Countach owners, and have them on my Countach and both my race Jag and street Jag.
By the way the price of ONE rear shock from Lamborghini today is around $2600.00, crazy price I know, but that is the new, owned by Audi, Lamborghini.

The best place to contact me is at this address: JaguarXJ_S@Yahoo.com

Wow, then I got a real bargain when I was able to buy 2 Konis for the front on ebbay.de

The reason why these shocks are so expensive is, that Koni has them no more in stock and want to have a minimum limit of 50 to be produced, since a Lambo needs already 4 for the rear axle, this shouldn't be such a huge issue, specially not for the factory.
