Default Kevlar Clutch. I was told not to use one.

Anyone here have issues with the Kevlar Clutch? I was told NOT to use it because of the torque of the lambo would tear up the rear end? Anyone ever hear of this?

Now that would depend on the size of your right foot wouldn't it?

Well, I will do no burn outs. If anything..just spirited drives. I heard Carbon Fiber would screw up the sensor in the bellhousing...with it's dust.

All clutches make a good amount of dust, But i wasn't aware of any sensor in the bellhousing.

The sensor in the bellhousing is magnetic and since carbon fiber has metallic parts in it, the dust collects on the sensor and screws up the ignition. So I was told to go with Kevlar instead.

The idea that I've got this indestructible clutch will cause the next weakest link to break, whatever that is.

Diablos are not really designed with Drag Racing in mind. I don't know about you, but I've seen PLENTY of cars specifically designed for Drag Racing Blow Parts ,including clutches (maybe that's why Scatter Shields on Bell Housings are MANDATORY??)!!

Yes the Drive Shafts & Ring Gears can & have broken on Diablos & more than a few on Vipers also.

When all else fails fall back on the old saying: "Treat your Equipment Right & it Will Treat You Right". ...or the other one: " To Finish First, First You Must Finish"!

How much extreme use is only restrained by your ability to spend on repairs. The richer you are the more you can spend chasing the next weakest link in the chain.

Here is an interesting article about maintanace & repair in extreme use circumstances, seems a NASCAR Costs More to Operate than a Racing Jet Aircraft per year:

Wink

I put my kevlar clutch in 2 and a half years ago. My car is 2wd. I treat it with respect, but I have to use the clutch ++++++ where I am located. For example, I have to reverse the car to get it out of home, up an incline to the point where the front end is touching the ground.

It's early days, if the clutch lasts another 2 years I'll be happy. There is nothing about the setup which is likely to transmit anything harmful to the rest of the drivetrain. I have read that carbon clutches can produce debris that can upset flywheel sensors etc etc.

Perhaps I should start another thread, but I have also turned down my idle setting a bit, now running about 1000 rpm, or a bit less. This seems to make the car a bit easier to drive in slow traffic, and moving the car from a stop is obviously less wearing on the clutch disc.

Just curious...does your kevlar clutch easier to push in? I heard kevlar set up reduces the pressure about 30%? I will take anything right now...my clutch is way too hard.

So far you like the kevlar and had no issues with it?
