When you did get a CEL, what was the car doing exactly? Ie cruising down a freeway? Idling after a start?

Hey Y'all,

It will only give a CEL at a stone cold start up IF I let it idle a little too long. It will only do it on the cyl 1-6. It will not do it on a warm or luke-warm engine...no matter how long I let it idle. I have changed O2 sensors and it still does it.

When going through the cold start, if I blip the throttle as the carter motor is slowing down ( finishing ) no CEL.

Mick, your explaination about the amplitude swing is what gave me the idea for the "blip". If I hook my scanner up...it will display all 4 O2 sensors in real time. The 1/6 is in the same perameters as the 7/12 .

The car runs smooth, (cold or warm) my surging is all but gone...gone on toasty-warm engine and fuel economy is good ( ha ha relatively speaking of course )

This little issue is just driving me nuts!

A Diablo is like a hot tall thin blonde. Sooo seductive, you just keep putting up with her crap. Buying her high-heels or headers, you know she costs you a fortune. But riding her....oh soooo good!
