Default Hard starting

After sitting for a week or two, my VT takes two or three trys before firing. It cranks fine now, but I'm looking for that instant start instead of two or three misfires. I find myself pumping the gas while cranking. What specifically causes this? Is it just some adjustment? It runs great, other than that.

you shouldn't pump the gas. just turn it over. my diablo is the same. i imagine the fuel pumps need to get the fuel up there. this is not an issue.

There is a fuel pump for each side of the motor, they are located on the passager side. DO NOT pump your gas. After a bit of a sit, and for all starts you should turn your key to the full on position WITHOUT cranking to start...you should be able to hear over your right shoulder both pumps starting to run. They normally take a few secons to fill the fuel rails with fuel. Turn your car over after the stop pumping, which for the most part is about the same time your idiot lights and beeping stop...this way you should fire right up.

That is exactly the way I attempt to start the car, but it still doesn't start as it should. I know pumping is not the thing to do, just trying different things.
