Default Fuel sender jumping around

Well here we go again,2001 Diablo with 3,500 miles and the fuel sender jumps from 1/2 tank to 0 fuel then jumps back after about 10-15 minutes of driving,is this just a fuel tank sender problem or are they known to have other issues with wiring ect. Thanks Austin

I had my temperature gauge do the same thing. The push on terminal to the gauge wasn't making full contact. I'd remove the dash and check that.

I also had my fuel gauge read incorrectly, but after putting on a few miles, it cleared up. Since it hasn't been drivin much, maybe the sensor is sticking?

Dear Lamborghinisti,

I have the same issue with my 97.5 roadster.

I have checked and cleaned the wires at the gauge and the sender....same issue.

I fill the tank and the gauge only reads 7/8. I can drive, all of a sudden, the tank will show empty with the fuel light on and beeping, then all is fine. Even the low fuel warning comes on too early.

I have heard these same symptoms from sooo many diablo owners that I think that's just the way it is.

I fill up to the filler neck and reset the odometer to know how much fuel I really have.

BTW, the described issues are only " once in awhile "

...just Italian engineering at its best.

A Diablo is like a hot tall thin blonde. Sooo seductive, you just keep putting up with her crap. Buying her high-heels or headers, you know she costs you a fortune. But riding her....oh soooo good!
