Default Computer reset...

Thanks for that ...... I'll reset the computers ....
I think the battery needs replacing , when attempting to start the car it only lasts about 30 seconds then dies !

Job for tomorrow ....!

I know there is a big healthy spark going to plugs , so thought I'd check the fuel getting through ok . I disconnected fuel rail at regulator end and connected a pipe which I fed into container ... when I turn on ignition I can hear pumps priming, but no fuel came out from end of rail ..... bit confused ! I presume pressurised fuel should appear here !
Decided to check pre-filters, pumps and filters..... pre-filters fine , both pumps run , though I'll check pressure and flow rate tomorrow. Did find nasty fuel leak from perished hose , so it worth worth all the hassle anyway .
Tomorrow I'll refit pumps, and check main filters.....
If my ideas and thoughts are wrong , no doubt someone will correct me ! (I hope !)
I will get the beast running !

Keep up the good work !
Cheers

Don't forget that when you fit your new battery, with this car you really need to keep it charged. When the car is not in use, I suggest you put it on a battery tender. Also check that it is not overcharging which is just as bad for the battery. It sounds mad but trust me you will quickly get caught with a dead battery otherwise.

Let us know what you find in the fuel system !! Has the fuel in the car been changed ? Has it been sitting around for a while ? Its just something else that you could eliminate.

It would be nice if you find the time to post some photos, and I would really like to hear of your experience in purchasing the car where you did and then exporting it to Europe.

Default It Starts !

Hi to everyone ,

Quick update .... starting problem resolved.. fuel system , pumps filters etc all good , just a bad fuel leak from one pump, now sorted.

Start fault traced to an a broken wire in one of the phase sensors.... bit awkward as it was quite close to the connector. However, once repaired the car started first time !
In fact its the first time car has run for nearly 6 months ! Allowed it to come up to temperature in its own time .... oil pressure , water oil temps all spot on , both rad fans working and when I rev its sounding as a V12 should !
I need to sort out fine tuning , set the throttle linkages as its not returning smoothly to idle, so a bit to do , but important thing is it runs !
Have discovered , as suspected that the alternator not working .... I'll get that out today and try to replace or repair over next couple of days.
So, not too much to do to get car prepped for our UK "MOT" to make it legal to drive on roads .
The headlamps have been changed for driving on the left , they were sourced from Australia, the front indicators , one was cracked so I've now replaced those, from the states.
I do need to fit a rear fog lamps which raises the issue of electrics again ! The switch gear is I must say pretty crap. I've bought new switches for various things including the fog lamps. But there is no relay fitted where I was expecting. ....can someone tell if there is supposed to be one each for front and rear ?
The other problem . I've found the wiring loom at back of car but on testing both live feed and earth both seem to be earthed !
Think I'll have to wire in a new supply.
Apart from that I just have to replace the steering rack rubbers on the track rod ends. They seem to be ok , and its expensive to replace them for the cost of 2 perished rubbers ! If necessary I'll buy 2 more from another cheaper car which has rubber around the same size . The Lambo ones are about $150 each .....

Thats it for now , keep you posted !
