Default diablo pinion shaft sheared

Any one had this problem,,1991 diablo , pinion shaft broke in half..
car has not been abused other than high speed since I have had it.
Took off from a light real smooth, just snapped.
Lamborghini is telling me to update it to a later year,

Yes i had this problem when i had a 2wd.. The new one will be uprated..

carlo,,, Any idea what year uprated pinion was put in your car ? Or what to ask for. I have it disassembled now, it was twisted a ready to break in 2 more areas.
I am really disapointed in the strength of the shaft, as I have never abused the car by dropping the clutch or power shifed it. Thanks for the input ! nuss

just a note that might help anyone with clutch problems also,, I sent my clutch to clutchmasters in ca. last winter, had them rebuild the disc and pressure plate, surface flywheel. I just removed my tranny and the clutch still looks just like the day I put it in. Put about 5000 plus miles on it. no clutch dust, disc looks perfect.
cost was about 2500.00 us nuss
