Default Diablo Clutch Rod

Been doing a lot of reading on this subject. (Thank's John at Lamboweb), and other sites, I've read of them breaking at 2,500 miles, and then not at all after 18,000 miles. I have 6,000 and 8,000 miles on the two of my cars. I'm wondering if I should just change them out to the custom made "Custer" rod before it happens, or give it more time. Is there a reliable way to inspect it, such as a crack or bend? Just how many board members have experienced breakage and at what miles?

I'm trying not to be too paranoid about being stranded on a back road in the middle of no where.

Raymond, af you have the car up, at least add the reinforcing washer and nut as I have shown in figure 5. It takes a few minutes to do and will give you some protection. I for one had no warning what so ever. Was lucky i could freewheel off a busy highway ramp and park the car. Life too short to live with the risk in my opinion.
