Default Diablo 6.0 readout

Hi All,

I'm currently looking at a Diablo VT 6.0 that is on offer.
Current owner states that check engine light was ON at intervals and is now ON allmost all the time. Nevertheless I'm probably going to have a look at the car next week. Although I learned a lot on this forum I could still use some input on what to look out for. F.e. I learned that by using ignition switch on-off 4 times you can see the LIE error code that was causing the "check engine"
- What readings should I consider "fatal" or i.o.w. extremely costly to fix.
- Could there be more than one error indicated by the flashing of the "check engine" after using the ignition "trick" ?
- Would it be usefull to hook an OBD-II reader ? I might have access to a laptop with OBD-II interface box. Which OBD software works for the Diablo 6.0 ?
- What info is available through OBD-II ?
- Is there software to readout the Lamborghini LDAS system ? I was told this could provide tons of information about how the car was driven like max rpms max temperatures, engine hours.... etc...
- Car is listed as being 20.000 miles. How to check if this is the actual milage ? (there are some doubts!) Of course the LDAS engine hours reading could provide clues.
- What else to look out for ?

Woow, that's a lot of questions for a single post.

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Paul

Hi guys,

I have some additional info on the problem.

Only left "check engine" is on.
Engine seems to run smoothly.
Engine idles continuesly between 900 & 1100 rpm.

Could this be ignition or computer related ?

Thx,

Paul

I had the same issues with the 6.0 I purchased recently. But it was the Right check engine light that was on.
The guys here at this forum told me not to sweat it. And they were right. Though I did have to reset the light manually. It has since stayed off. The idle does seem to pulsate slightly also, but I hear this is not unusual.

Buy a handheld OBDII reader and try reading codes and resetting etc. See for example http://www.lamboweb.com/Repairs_Sect..._OBD_Codes.htm

Often codes like this are not serious.

I use this "scantool"
http://www.autoenginuity.com/

It installs in a laptop, works on all my OBDII cars, and the tech support is good. And unlike some of the handheld's, it will monitor and record.
