Of course also the timing advance in the distributor was stuck.
it's a shame but this is so common with the Marrelli distribs

After 2000Km my car is back in Garage for the final carb tuning and some minor issues we couldn't solve so far, a friend of Lausanne joined us with his white/white QV. Also this car has a broken distributor, acceleration pumps leaking and the car is tuned so badly, some plugs are black and others white...
One carburettor was leaking into the engine, we checked then compression and the engine is OK, within one week all the carbs are overhouled and next Saturday he will not recognize his car again

I also installed him my ignition box:

For all who have oil drops under your engine, check if it's really engine oil, we have several cars with gearbox oil leaks not engine oil!!!

It's the seal ring of the gearbox main shaft which is leaking, it will of course be replaced, this seal costs about $9, but the work to replace it...

It's piece #31 of tav12, my whole clutch bell was full of oil and dirt mud...

Raymond, Could you please tell me how much work this is replacing this seal.

Thanks, Sincerely Vic

If the engine is out and the gearbox separated half an hour.

Default insulating the engine bay

Raymond,

I was wondering what or how the insulation in the engine bay is held on? Did you use a spray adhesive, pop rivets, or what? It looks great.

it's self glueing if you look on my homepage you can see the Link to the DEI-Homepage http://www.designengineering.com/

http://www.designengineering.com/pro...sp?m=sp&pid=28

You can buy it at summitracing for example, one pack for $50 is enough, i still have quite a lot left.

Today I put the DEI radiator relief into my coolant, I knew before that it's good because I tried water wetter and radiator relief before we fixed the leaking head gasket but again it's impressive!

I tried also water wetter but from my experience radiator relief is much better.

Very nice work Raymond..

On the header wrap, you should know that stuff will destroy your header pipes. Lots of folks in the SCCA used to use it on their formula fords to contain heat. It works so well, that the heat build up actually disintigrates the headers. Some folks would run it for a few seasons, then get an exhaust leak. When they'd unwrap the header to weld up the leak, they found they had NO header left under the wrap.

While you Stainless exhaust should be able to stand the heat much better, it may not. The exhaust temps can reach over 1000-degree Farenheight.

A better alternative to reduce heat is a jet-hot or similar coating on the exhaust system. http://www.jet-hot.com/ I know several folks who have done it to there f-cars and it was ~$350 U.S. (V-8 cars, V-12 would obviously be more).
