Countach Pre Purchase Inspection
Hello, everyone,
I did a search to see if I could dig up some info on exactly what to look for when considering a countach for purchase, but I couldn't find much. Plenty of Diablo related material, though.
I'm sure the requirements are different for each model, and I know the standard things to check (compression, clutch, brakes, history, idle, leaks, smoke, etc.) I will offer that most of the Countachs I have seen for sale are 2V carb cars and anniversary models, but the latter isn't really my thing. Anyway, my question pertains to any smaller, possibly hard to notice mechanical foibles that may lead to big trouble down the road. Electrical demons? Body rot? Evidence of subtle engine problems just waiting to rear their ugly heads? Body seals that turn to powder? Anything you have for me would be much appreciated. If I decide to purchase one of these cars, I'd like to have at least a good year to enjoy it without having to dive into any drastic, expensive and time consuming maintenance. I realize you can't know for sure, but I just want to be as safe as possible.
I do apologize if I missed a thread with this type of info. If there is one, just direct me to it! Thanks!
