Default Countach Alternator removal

I read somewhere else the question how to remove the alternator to replace/overhoul it.

First of all a common remark, the Countach alternator has a special top plate to mount it in the car, this gives the alternator a special bosch piece number which you cannot find in the computer.
BUT, in the end it's a simple 85A Bosch alternator which is also used in other cars.
The number of the used Alternator in the QV is 0120 469 641 or 0120 469 667 (Lambopart # 001620643, parts manual May 1985, 25th Jan. 1989 0120 468 005).
The LP5000s parts manual says: 001613927 = Alt 0120 489 626 K1 14V 65A 21, FI-Version: 001620643, 85A = QV
When mine broke in 2003 in the Netherlands I had to replace it at the Bosch dealer in Venlo, we managed this by taking a Ford (098 603 600 0090 this is even a 90A unit) alternator, taking it to pieces and just mount the Countach specific top plate onto the new unit. I had to cut the heat shield under the alternator a bit because the Ford alternator has a mounting nose which conflicts with the shield.

If you have enough time, take the alternator out and bring it to a Bosch dealer, they can replace every single piece of it, it's no problem for them to get a new diode plate (the piece which normally burns inside) and all other pieces, they will also replace all bearing etc. To overhoul an alternator a Bosch dealer bills you at most $250-$300.

Here a picture of the CT Alternator:

Okay, now how to take out the alternator...
There is now way to get around all the water and AC tubes than taking away the distributor cap, take the alternator of it's mount, move against the distributor, there turn it 90 degrees the way the pully looks up and now pull it out, perhaps you have to push the AC Lines a bit but thats no problem. Like this you can take it out in 10 Minutes, it's really easy on the QV.

On the 25th carbed it should be the same, the FI cars I can't tell, perhaps only the rubber tube has to be removed... Looking at the last attached picture it might be easier since there is no water tube from the thermostat, it should be able to take it out where the plug wires come up.

Raymond, this is really good information for all of us.
Moving away from the main topic here, do you happen to know what the best way is to replace the fuel lines in a FI Countach 5000s?
Your car is not FI, but maybe among your multiple contacts and connections,
somebody knows the best way to replace those lines...
