Default Countach 2V FI won't idle

Hey gang,

My US '84 CT with the factory FI has developed a problem where it won't idle, even after warm-up. If I take it out, it has no power and feels like it's only running on a few cylinders. I thought it might be the ignition box, so I swapped it and the coil out for a rebuilt PermaTune unit I had on hand, but it's still the same. Plugs and wires are nearly new, and cap/rotor look fine, so I think it is getting spark. Maybe fuel delivery is poor? I don't know where to start checking the Bosch FI (I think it's the K-Jetronic). Any ideas?

Have you verified fuel pressure both sides? Has it been standing for a long time?

The problem did start after it had been sitting a while, maybe more than a month. I had a heck of a time getting it started yesterday. Where/how is the best way to check the fuel pressure on these systems? Is there a port to connect a pressure gauge, or do you need to tee into a fuel line?

Did you have Perma-Tune "convert" your Unit to 12 Cylinders?

Have you checked inside the Cap for Corroision?

Have you pulled a Plug to check for Fouling?

My Perma-Tune unit is a converted Marelli AEC104, which was rebuilt for my Ferrari 400i, so it is made for 12 cyclinders. I pulled the cap and it looks nearly new. The wires are new. I have not pulled any plugs, but after trying 2 different ignition units, 2 different coils, and checking the condition of the cap, rotor, and wires, I don't think the problem is on the spark side, but I'll pull a couple plugs tomorrow to be sure.

Hello Islero-man,
I think I share your problem, I have a FI car too, and it hesitates a lot right now. Did you ever figure out what the problem was? It would be very interesting to me!

Thanks!

Funny enough, I kept checking the Fuel Injection system and I managed to get it running better, I believe one (or two) injectors are not doing their job right.
I have to check them one at a time to see the spray...!

The K Jetronic (with and without the Lambda feedback loop) is pretty straight forward. When I wanted to learn about it , I purchased 2 books on Ebay. This system was used on a lot of Mercedes and Volvos and the like. The Lamborghinis of your era simply used 2 systems, although I did not think that an 84 had "factory" fuel injection

The LP5000S was only legal in US with exactly that Bosch system, it was originally developped by a US dealer, the factory simply took it over.
The first cars were from 1983 they had 336 instead of the 375 bhp.
