Default cooling fan problem 91 diablo

If any one has any ideas,,,91 diablo,, had the motor out for pinion shaft replacement, upon replacing the motor and starting, the cooling fans stay on all the time, and the alternator will not start charging till you rev it up a couple time, then it charges ok.the battery light lites up when the fans are hooked up also. Have had the motor out before with no problems, everything is wired correctly, relays and fuses seem to be ok. all earthing points ok. any help appreciated,,, nuss

It sounds like a diode is out of the alternator or possibly the voltage regulator is misbehaving.

Agree with Raymond... OR you may have two issues...
1. The Alt/regulator as stated above (I'd guess regulator)
2. A bad coolant temp switch (located on top) will cause the fans to stay on all the time.
